Privacy Policy
What happens when you browse, search or contact The Unhurried Journal.
Last updated: 23 October 2026
This policy covers The Unhurried Journal at https://bytemark.top. It describes the website's current features, information involved in delivering them, and ways to ask privacy questions. For requests about this publication, contact [email protected].
Browsing the website
The publication delivers static pages, local photographs, styles and scripts. Its application code does not set cookies, use localStorage or sessionStorage, create reader profiles, or run advertising, audience analytics or social tracking scripts. There are no reader accounts, subscriptions, payment facilities or public comment areas in this version.
The journal's search and category filters work with article cards already loaded in your browser. The search text is used on your device and is not submitted to a search service or added to a search query URL by the site's code.
The contact draft checker
The form on the Contact page is a local draft checker, not a message delivery service. Name, email, topic and message fields are used only to validate the draft in the current page. The site's code does not transmit these values or save them in browser storage. A success message means that the draft passed validation; it does not mean that an inquiry was delivered. Your browser may separately offer autofill or form restoration according to its own settings.
Messages you choose to send
If you copy the displayed address into your email service and send a message, the message, sender address and any information you include are handled by the email services involved. Correspondence may be used to answer the inquiry, investigate a correction or rights concern, and maintain a relevant record of the exchange. Do not include passwords, payment details, identity documents or unnecessary information about another person.
Correspondence should be retained only for the inquiry and any continuing editorial, rights or legal need, then deleted when no longer required. A single fixed retention period is not stated because different requests and applicable obligations can require different handling. You may ask what correspondence is held about you and request correction or deletion where applicable.
Hosting and delivery information
Loading a page involves contacting the server or delivery infrastructure serving it. The hosting provider may process IP addresses, requested URLs, timestamps, user-agent details, referring information and technical error information to deliver files, maintain security and investigate faults. The static application does not itself maintain a server-side visitor database.
A production hosting provider, log retention period, server location and any provider-operated cookies have not been specified in this website's local configuration. This policy does not claim that hosting logs are absent or automatically deleted after a particular number of days. Hosting practices must be checked against the actual deployment and this policy updated when those details are established.
External links and credited resources
Articles link to source organizations and image credits. Following a link takes you to a separately operated service whose privacy practices apply there. Article images are served locally rather than embedded from those services. The site's application does not load their tracking tools merely to display an article.
Advertising and analytics choices
Google advertising and analytics are not enabled in this version. If these features are introduced, the policy and any required choice mechanisms must be updated before the new processing begins. For general information, Google's ad personalization settings describe available advertising choices and may require sign-in. Google's partner-site data-use explanation provides background; that page is informational, not itself an opt-out control.
Privacy requests and your choices
Depending on the law that applies to you and the information involved, you may be entitled to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or a copy of relevant personal information, object to certain uses, or withdraw consent where consent is relied on. Send the request to [email protected], describing the information or correspondence concerned and how to reply. Only proportionate information should be requested to establish that a request relates to you. Applicable rights, exceptions and response periods depend on the circumstances; this page does not promise a universal deadline.
You can manage browser autofill, history and site permissions through your browser. Because journal search is local and there is no application-managed account, the website has no account profile to export or close. Where applicable, you may also raise a concern with your local data protection authority.
Security, children and changes
Avoid sending sensitive information through ordinary correspondence. No online delivery or storage system can promise complete security. The website is intended for a general audience and does not provide a children's account or data submission service. If you believe a message contains a child's personal information that should be removed, contact us with enough context to locate it.
This policy should be reviewed when hosting, correspondence handling or website features change. Revisions are published here with an updated date. Use the Contact page for questions about a particular feature or request.
